Well, that is not quite accurate. This morning I went off with one of my hosts to the botanical garden where we had a pleasant lunch and then strolled around through all the different Australian ecosystems, from a small, red outback bit to various eucalyptus/gum tree forests, to a ravine which was a rainforest. Extremely pleasant. Then we drove to the top of a hill where there was a lookout point over this very small city. And finally we picked up one of the children from school and heard about their current school project: to use a 3D printer to make a pencil holder in the shape of a toilet. Very far removed indeed from the pitiful battery-powered quiz show on a cardboard box I made at that age. The future is in some ways an improvement.
